Wonder Woman!
Nov 5th, 2009 by Pafford

Here’s a drawing of Wonder Woman that I did recently. My inks and Jennie’s color.

I assume Wonder Woman is hunting bears.

Captain Picklebeard (and Dilly) Colored!
Nov 5th, 2009 by Pafford

Avast! I mean, at last!

It’s everyone’s favorite kosher pirate — Captain Picklebeard and his ole chum, Dilly. This time in sea-raging color thanks to the lovely and talented Jennie Kohl Austin. He started as a day dream on Talk Like a Pirate Day — which fortuitously coincided with the Krypton Comics Artists Jam. I like the character quite a bit, and would like to do more with him — perhaps a short comic story?

Cursed from quite a young age with a green and bumpy (and peculiar vinegar scented) beard, young master Picklebeard stole a ship and took to the high-seas to escape the taunts of fellow students in the Seaside Naval Academy for Wayward Youths.

Thus began the sordid (and peculiar vinegar scented) tale of one of the sea’s most feared buccaneers, Picklebeard the Pirate.

Supergirl on Master Digital Color
Sep 10th, 2009 by Pafford

My Supergirl drawing was used in an awesome tutorial over at http://masterdigitalcolor.com/?p=782

They mentioned Nathan Brown’s http://www.room122.com/ which led me over there. They have some great photoshop brushes, vector art and inspiration pieces. Definitely worth a look! I’m downloading some vectors as we speak.

Speaking of vectors, I do much of my inking in Adobe Illustrator, now, with the Blob Brush. Supergirl was a traditional sketch and then vector brushing with my Wacom tablet.

Here’s the result of the tutorial — cool!

Thanks @GeekyWhiteGuy!
